Privacy Policy
IdealGuard · Last updated: November 5, 2026
In short: IdealGuard keeps your vault on your iPhone. We don't require an account, we have no cloud, and we never see your photos, videos, notes, passwords or contacts. We don't show ads in the App. We use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure our advertising, and we use your advertising identifier only if you allow it.
This Privacy Policy explains how Oleksandra Yudina, an individual developer ("we", "us", "our"), handles information when you use the IdealGuard app (the "App"). We are the data controller for the limited personal data described below.
1. What stays on your device
The following data is processed only on your iPhone. We cannot see it, and it is not sent to us or to anyone else:
| Feature | How it works |
|---|---|
| Vault | Photos, videos, notes, passwords and contacts you add are stored in the App's protected storage on your iPhone. They are included in your iPhone backup (iCloud or computer), which is managed by Apple, not by us. |
| Passcode and Face ID | Your passcode is stored on your device in a protected form (iOS Keychain). Face ID is handled by iOS; the App only receives a yes/no result and never receives biometric data. |
| Break-in alerts | If you turn this on, the front camera takes a photo after several wrong passcode attempts. The photo and the time are saved only in your vault. |
| Sensitive screenshots | Text in your screenshots is recognized on your device to find possible card numbers, codes or passwords. The text is not saved or uploaded. |
| Remove location | Location data is read from and removed from the selected photos on your device. |
| Photo cleanup and similar photos | Photos are compared on your device. Nothing is deleted without your confirmation. |
| Password generator and clipboard | Passwords are generated on your device. A password you copy is removed from the clipboard after 60 seconds. |
| Contacts backup | If you use it, a copy of your contacts is saved in your vault as a file on your device. |
2. Data we may collect
- Purchases. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, payment card or Apple ID. The App checks your purchases with Apple to unlock Premium features and restore them on a new device.
- Advertising measurement (Meta SDK). The App includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. It sends Meta app events such as app install, app launch, start of a free trial and purchase (product and price), together with device information (device model, iOS version, app version), IP address and country. We use this to understand which of our ads lead to installs and purchases. If you allow tracking in the iOS "Allow Tracking" prompt, the SDK also receives your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you don't allow it, the IDFA is not shared, and Meta may receive limited, aggregated data through Apple's privacy-preserving measurement. The Meta SDK never receives your vault content, photos, notes, passwords, contacts or location.
- Support. If you contact us by email or through our contact form, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to answer you.
We do not use any other advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not collect your vault content, photos, location, contacts or browsing activity.
3. Permissions
- Photos — to add photos and videos to the vault, remove location, find sensitive screenshots and similar photos. You can choose Limited Access.
- Camera — only for break-in alerts.
- Contacts — only to back up contacts or add a contact to the vault.
- Face ID — only to unlock the vault.
- Allow Tracking — iOS asks whether the App may share your advertising identifier with Meta for ad measurement. The App works the same whether you allow it or not.
Each permission is requested when you first use the related feature. You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings. The App works without them, except for the related features.
4. Why we use data (legal bases)
- To provide Premium features you purchased — performance of a contract.
- To answer support requests — performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in helping users.
- To measure the performance of our ads with Meta — your consent where required (for the advertising identifier, through the iOS "Allow Tracking" prompt), otherwise our legitimate interest in measuring our marketing in aggregate.
We do not sell your personal data. We share the limited app event and device data described above with Meta for ad measurement. If you live in a U.S. state that treats this as "sharing" for targeted advertising, you can opt out by choosing "Ask App Not to Track" in iOS (Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking) or by contacting us.
5. Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us run the App, under contracts that require them to protect it, or when required by law. Our service providers are Meta Platforms, Inc. (ad measurement, United States; see Meta's Privacy Policy) and Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting of our website and contact form, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy).
6. Retention
On-device data stays on your iPhone until you delete it or delete the App. Support messages are kept for up to 24 months. Data received by Meta is kept under Meta's own retention policy. Purchase records are kept as long as required for accounting and legal purposes.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To use these rights, contact us at the address below. Because we don't link data to an account, we may ask for details that help us find your request. We cannot access or delete vault content on your device; you can delete it yourself in the App.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
9. Security
Vault content is stored in the App's protected storage on your device and is available only after unlocking with your passcode or Face ID. We keep processing on your device wherever possible and use reasonable measures to protect any data we receive. No method of storage is completely secure.
10. International transfers
If our service providers process data outside your country, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will change the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the App.
12. Contact
Questions or requests: support@idealguard.app or our contact form.
